CX3CL1 (fractalkine) is expressed on TNF-alpha and IL-1 activated endothelial cells (ECs). CX3CL1 can exist in 2 forms: as membrane-anchored or as a shed 95kD glycoprotein. The soluble CX3CL1 has potent chemoattractant activity for T cells and monocytes, and the cell surfacebound protein, which is induced on activated primary endothelial cells, promotes strong adhesion of those leukocytes. May play a role in regulating leukocyte adhesion and migration processes at the endothelium. Binds to CX3CR1. Biological Activity: Chemotaxis effect of soluble recombinant human CX3CL1 in THP-1 cells. Sequence: Signal peptide and extracellular domain of human CX3CL1 (aa 1-339) are fused at the C-terminus to a FLAG(R)-tag. Storage and Stability: Short-term Storage: +4 degrees C Long-term Storage: -20 degrees C Working aliquots are stable for up to 3 months when stored at -20 degrees C.
