Cyclin D1

Cyclin D1 gene is identical to the BCL-1 and the PRAD-1 oncogene and is part of the chromosome 11q13 amplicon which is amplified in several common tumor types like breast, lung, esophagus, urinary bladder and head and neck carcinoma. This antibody is especially useful in tumor diagnosis: it can be used as fast method to identify cases with 11q13 amplifications. Polypeptide reacting: Mr 36,000 polypeptide (cyclin D1 polypeptide of human cells). \n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry and Neutralization. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nImmunohistochemistry (Frozen and paraffin): 1:10 with PBS, pH 7.4; Incubation Time 1 hr at RT or overnight at 4 degrees C for paraffin sections. Paraffin without microwave treatment only after fixation in methacarn, ethanol or phenol formalin; weak reaction using routine formol-fixed paraffin sections. Paraffin with microwave treatment for routine formalin-fixation. \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognizes human cyclin D1 protein present predominantly in G1 phase of cell cycle. It does not crossreact with D2 or D3 cyclins (the closest relatives within the cyclin family). Species Crossreactivity: monkey, rat, mouse, canine and rodent.
