CYP3A4, is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and its expression is induced by glucocorticoids and some pharmacological agents. This enzyme is involved in the metabolism of approximately half the drugs which are are used today, including acetaminophen, codeine, cyclosporin A, diazepam and erythromycin. The enzyme also metabolizes some steroids and carcinogens.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot (Cell ysate): 1:500-1:1000 detects a band at ~57.34kD using HepG2 lysate\nWestern Blot (Tissue lysate): 1:500-1:1000 detecsts a band at ~57.34kD using human liver lysate\nWestern Blot (Transfected lysate): 1:1000-1:2000 detects a band at ~55.33kD using CYP3A4 transfected 293T lysate \nImmunohistochemistry (paraffin): 3ug/ml using human small intestine tissue\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
