Cytochrome C (CYC, Cytochrome C Somatic, CYCS, HCS, THC4) (Biotin)

In addition to its well-known role in electron transport, cytochrome c (CYT) has been identified as a mediator of apoptosis or programmed cell death. Cytochrome c translocates from mitochondria into the cytoplasm in the early phases of apoptosis and plays a role in initiation of the apoptotic proteolytic cascade by activating caspase-3. Cytochrome c has been shown to bind Apaf-1. Apaf-1 has also been shown to activate capase-3. \n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution: \nWestern Blot: 1:250-1:500\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nHeLa cells lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nStore at 4 degrees C. Do Not Freeze. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
