Cytochrome P450 Enzyme CYP1A2

Cytochromes P450 enzymes are a group of heme-thiolate monooxygenases. In liver microsomes, this enzyme is involved in an NADPH-dependent electron transport pathway. It oxidizes a variety of structurally unrelated compounds, including steroids, fatty acids, and xenobiotics. Most active in catalyzing 2-hydroxylation. Caffeine is metabolized primarily by cytochrome CYP1A2 in the liver through an initial N3-demethylation. Also acts in the metabolism of aflatoxin B1 and acetaminophen.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. \n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:1000-1:4000. Detects a band at ~54kD.\nImmunohistochemistry: frozen and formaldehyde treated sections. \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
