Reacts with cytokeratin polypeptides No 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 14, 16, 17 and 18. In tissue sections it binds to cells of epithelial origin; non-epithelial cells and skin based layer cells are negative. It has also been shown to stain neoplastic cells of epithelial origin. Clone 3H2049 has been reported as being suitable for use in Western blotting. The molecular weight of the recognized antigen is 56kD.
