Cytokeratin 1 is a type II Cytokeratin. The type II Cytokeratins consist of basic or neutral proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelial tissues. This type II Cytokeratin is specifically expressed in the spinous and granular layers of the epidermis with family member KRT10 and mutations in these genes have been associated with bullous congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunocytochemistry: 1:200 Immunofluorescence: 1:200 Immunohistochemistry: Frozen and paraffin sections. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
