Cytokeratin filaments consist of a complex family of ~20 different cytokeratin polypeptides with relative molecular weights of 40kD to 68kD. These intracellular intermediate filaments of 10nm in diameter provide structural integrity to epithelial cells. All the filament subunits share a general common fibrillar organization, consisting of a central alpha-helical rod that is flanked by N- and C-terminal domains at each end. Generally, low molecular weight keratins are expressed in the early stages of cell development, whereas high molecular weight keratins are expressed in maturing cells.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 10ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
