CD209 is involved in dendritic cell (DC) migration and the initial interaction between DC's and naive T lymphocytes. CD209 also binds HIV-1 gp120 and plays a key role in the dissemination of HIV-1 by DC's. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:50-1:100; 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Additional info: Recognizes human DC-specific ICAM-3 grabbing nonintegrin (DC-SIGN), a 45kD C-type lectin that binds ICAM-3 that is also known as CD209. Reported to partially block the functional activity of DC-SIGN(2).
