Description:
Dextrose Broth is a basic medium used to study the fermentation of dextrose by microorganisms. It contains casein peptone used as carbon and nitrogen source and salt for electrolyte balance. Dextrose is the only fermentable carbohydrate. The medium does not contain a pH indicator.
Storage and Stabiity:
Store powdered media at 4 degrees C. Opened bottles should be capped tightly and kept in a dark, low humidity environment. Prepared media should be kept at 4 degrees C and used within a short period of time.
