DMAP1 (DNA Methyltransferase 1-Associated Protein 1, DNMAP1, DNMTAP1, DNMT1-Associated Protein 1, KIAA1425)

DNA methyltransferase 1-associated protein 1 (DMAP1) is involved in the repression or activation of transcription. The encoded protein can independently repress transcription and is targeted to replication foci throughout S phase by interacting directly with the N-terminus of DNA methyltransferase 1. During late S phase, histone deacetylase 2 is added to this complex, providing a means to deacetylate histones in transcriptionally inactive heterochromatin following replication. The protein also specifically potentiatesDXX-mediated repression of glucocorticoid receptor-dependent transcription. The encoded protein is also a component of the nucleosome acetyltransferase of H4 complex and interacts with the transcriptional corepressor tumor susceptibility gene 101 and the pro-apoptotic death-associated protein 6, among others. DMAP1 is found in a wide variety of living organisms from yeasts to humans. The human DMAP1 gene is localized on chromosome 1p34.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1-4ug/ml\nImmunohistochemistry (formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nHuman, mouse and rat brain lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
