The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the DOK family of membrane proteins, which are adapter proteins involved in signal transduction. The encoded protein interacts with phosphorylated receptor tyrosine kinases to mediate neurite outgrowth and activation of the MAP kinase pathway. In contrast to other DOK family proteins, this protein does not interact with RASGAP. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:16,000 Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing DOK5 a band of ~38kD is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected HEK293. The calculated molecular size is 35.5kD according to NP_060901.2. Immunohistochemistry: 1-2ug/ml In paraffin embedded tonsil, stains scattered cells in the interfollicular area compatible with mast cells. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
