Dopamine Beta Hydroxylase, NT (DBH, Dopamine beta Monooxygenase)

The production of neurotransmitters is controlled by environmental stimuli, which send signals through second messengers and protein kinase pathways. Regulation of gene expression of dopamine beta hydroxylase and tyrosine hydroxylase, two of the catecholamine biosynthetic enzymes, by cyclic AMP, diacyl glycerol, and Ca2+ leads to increased neurotransmitter biosynthesis. Dopamine beta-hydroxylase catalyzes the conversion of dopamine to noradrenaline and is expressed selectively in noradrenergic and adrenergic neurons in the nervous system. The disruption of the DBH gene is thought to cause changes in development and behavior in certain models. Both DBH and the multiple regulatory pathways of DBH are of increasing research in many neurological diseases.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. \n\nRecommended Dilution: \nWestern Blot: 1:200\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.\n
