Drebrins are actin-binding proteins, that are developmentally regulated in the process of neuronal growth. Three isoforms, E1 and E2 (embryonic) and A (adult) are generated by alternative RNA splicing from a single debrin gene in the chicken brain. The expression pattern of each isoform is regulated spatially and temporally in the developing brain. It has been suggested that debrin is one of the intracellular regulators of the neuronal morphogenesis (4). Debrin has also been detected in other kinds of non-neuronal human and bovine tissue but its exact role is unknown. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic Positive Control: Mouse Brain Tissue Extract. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
