DUSP16 is a 665aa novel mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphatase belonging to the non-receptor class of the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family with a rhodanese-like domain, protein tyrosine phosphatase catalytic domain and a long terminal stretch containing nuclear export and localization signal. DUSP16 are dual-specificity phosphatases that dephosphorylate the TXY motif of MAPK TXY motifs, thereby inactivating MAP kinases. DUSP16 is ubiquitously expressed and behaves both as a nuclear shuttle and as a phosphatase. It binds to and inactivates p38 MAPK and JNK/SAPK, p38 alpha and -beta but not gamma or delta and ERK. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 10ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Jurkat cell lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
