Dynein

Cat no: D9901-50A

Dynein

Eukaryotic cells rely on actin and microtubule-based protein "motors" to generate intracellular movements. These protein "motors" contain specialized domains that hydrolyze ATP to produce force and movement along a cytoskeletal polymer (actin in the case of myosin family and microtubules in the case of the kinesin family and dyneins). Dynein has been implicated in cytoplasmic motile funtions, including chromosomal movement, retrograde organelle and axonal transport, the endocytic pathway, and the organization of the Golgi apparatus. In all cell types, dynein has the same basic structures. It is composed of 2-3 distinct heavy chains (~450kD), three intermediate chains (70-125kD) and at least four light chains (15-25kD).\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western and Dot Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:2000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nCHO cells for chicken, frog and hampster, HeLa, MCF-7 for human.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
