Egf (Pro-epidermal Growth Factor, EGF, Epidermal Growth Factor)

EGF stimulates the growth of various epidermal and epithelial tissues in vivo and in vitro and of some fibroblasts in cell culture. Magnesiotropic hormone that stimulates magnesium reabsorption in the renal distal convoluted tubule via engagement of EGFR and activation of the magnesium channel TRPM6.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: In a sandwich ELISA (assuming 100ul/well), a concentration of 2-4ug/ml of this antibody will detect at least 100pg/ml of recombinant murine EGF when used with biotinylated antigen affinity purified anti-murine EGF as the detection antibody at a concentration of approximately 1-2ug/ml.\nWestern Blot: To detect mEGF by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 2-4ug/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant mEGF is 0.25-0.50ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and 10-15ng/lane under reducing conditions.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
