ELMO1 (Engulfment and Cell Motility 1, CED12, KIAA0281)

Cat no: E2248

ELMO1 (Engulfment and Cell Motility 1, CED12, KIAA0281)

The protein encoded by this gene interacts with the dedicator of cyto-kinesis 1 protein to promote phagocytosis and effect cell shape changes. Similarity to a C. elegans protein suggests that this protein may function in apoptosis and in cell migration. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunoprecipitation: 1:10-1:50\nPeptide ELISA: 1:32,000\nWestern Blot: 1-2ug/ml; ~70kD and 50kD bands seen in Jurkat lysate. Note the smaller isoform of this protein has a consensus glycosylation site, which may explain the higher than expected band size (50kD versus 30kD). Glycosylation can affect migration of proteins on SDS-PAGE [Hames, B.D and Rickwood, D., eds. Gel electrophoresis of proteins: a practical approach. Oxford University Press].\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
