Endostatin (20-22kD), a cleaved product of the C-terminal domain of collagen XVIII, is an endogenous angiogenesis inhibitor. It was originally found in conditioned media from a murine endothelial tumor cell line, hemangioendothelioma. Endostatin inhibits endothelial cell migration (in vivo and in vitro) and induces endothelial cell apoptosis. It inhibits tumor growth and impairs blood vessel maturation in wound healing. Endostatin has an important role in endothelial cell adhesion and cytoskeletal organization. Endostatin can be found in vessel walls (elastic fibers) and basement membranes.
Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic and Nuclear
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
