Endothelins are a family of peptides that are potent vasoconstrictors produced by mammalian vascular endothelial cells. The receptors for the endothelins are found on various tissues including, but not restricted to, lung and intestine. Endothelin A is free to bind to the receptor even if the antibody is present on the receptor. Tested using Endothelin A receptor transfected COS cells coded for expression of the 39kD segment of the cytoplasmic region of the receptor.
