Native, human eosinophil peroxidase is a secreted hemoprotein that catalyzes oxidations of various substrates by hydrogen peroxide. Together with other leukocyte-derived enzymes, such as Myeloperoxidase, EPO plays an important role in the pathogenesis of asthma by mediating oxidative events that lead to the production of ROS (reactive oxygen species) and RNS (reactive nitrogen species). Source: Eosinophil Peroxidase, from human eosinophils. Molecular Weight: ~70.5kD Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
