EphA2 Receptor (Ephrin A2 Receptor, EphA2, EPHA2, EPH Receptor A2)

Eph receptors belong to a family of receptor tyrosine kinases. Both ephrins, the ligands for Eph receptors, and Eph receptors are broadly expressed throughout the ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm of vertebrate embryos. The interaction of ephrins with the appropriate Eph receptor(s) has been implicated in a wide spectrum of functions in vertebrate morphogenesis, including the accurate migration of embryonic cells, formation of boundaries between structures (i.e. rhombomeres and somites), and the control of cytoskeletal changes which dictate cellular shape and adhesion during development. The EphA2 receptor (also called Eck, Myk2 and Sek2), has been implicated in cancer and is reportedly overexpressed in melanoma cell lines but not in normal melanocytes. Furthermore, EphA2 has been suggested as a therapeutic target for certain aggressive carcinomas, as antibodies against EphA2 receptor have been observed to inhibit growth of MDA-MB-231 breast tumor cells. Ligands known to interact with EphA2 include ephrins A1, A3, A4 A55 and PI3-Kinase.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunoprecipitaton: 2-5ug/ml\nWestern Blot: 1-5ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
