Ephrin A4 (EFNA4)

Ephrins are the ligands which bind to the Eph receptor subfamily, the largest group of the receptor tyrosine kinase family. Both ephrins and Eph receptors are broadly expressed throughout the ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm of vertebrate embryos. The interaction of ephrins with the appropriate Eph receptor(s) has been implicated in a wide spectrum of functions in vertebrate morphogenesis, including the accurate migration of embryonic cells, formation of boundaries between structures (i.e. rhombomeres and somites), and the control of cytoskeletal changes which dictate cellular shape and adhesion during development.\nTwo classes of ephrins exist: Class A ephrins are tethered to the membrane by a GPI linkage and bind primarily to EphA receptors; Class B ephrins contain a membrane-spanning region and bind predominantly to EphB receptors.\nEphrin-A4, also known as LERK-4 and EFL-4, is a Class A protein. It has been shown to bind the EphA2, EphA3, EphA4, EphA5, EphA6, EphA7, and EphB1 receptors.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nWestern Blot: 1-5ug/mL \nImmunoprecipitation: 5-10ug/ IP reaction \nImmunohistochemistry (FFPE): 4-10ug/ml. Heat induced epitope retrieval with EDTA, pH 8.0 was required for optimal staining. \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recognizes mouse ephrin-A4 protein. Reactivity is con?rmed with a chimeric protein consisting of the extracellular domain of human ephrin-A4 and the Fc region of human IgG1. Crossreactivity with human ephrin-A4 is also con?rmed with IHC experiments on human tissue sections and this reactivity was expected because of the 80% shared amino acid identity in the extracellular domains.
