Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (erbB, EGFR), Extracellular Domain (BSA & Azide Free)

EGFR is type I receptor tyrosine kinase with sequence homology to erbB-1, -2, -3, -4 or HER-1, -2, -3, -4. It binds to epidermal growth factor (EGF), transforming growth factor-a (TGFa), heparin binding EGF (HB-EGF), amphiregulin, betacellulin and epiregulin. EGFR is overexpressed in tumors of breast, brain, bladder, lung, gastric, head and neck, esophagus, cervix, vulva, ovary and endometrium. It is predominantly present in squamous cell carcinomas.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Affinity Purification, Inhibition of Cell Proliferation (A431 cells), Blocking of EGF/TGFa-induced Activation of EGFR, Flow Cytometry and Immunoprecipitation. This antibody arrests tumor growth in vivo. It also inhibits binding of E3375-04/E3375-04X to EGFR. It has no effect on tyrosine kinase activity of the receptor. Not suitable for Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nBlocking of EGF/TGFa-induced Activation of EGFR: 0.5ug/ml, cells induced by 30ng/ml EGF\nImmunoprecipitation: Native only\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nA431 cells\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
