Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (erbB, EGFR) (nonPhospho-Y1173)

Applications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml detects the EGF receptor (unphosphorylated at Y1173) in RIPA lysates from unstimulated HFF cells. Lysates from EGF stimulated and unstimulated HFF cells, 10ug per lane, were resolved by electrophoresis and transferred to nitro-cellulose. Lanes 1 and 2 were probed with anti-EGF receptor and visualized using a rabbit anti-sheep secondary antibody conjugated to HRP. Lanes 3 and 4 were probed with anti-EGF-R (non-phospho-Y1173) (1ug/ml) and visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP. A chemiluminescence detection system was used. (EGF-R 175 kD). \n\nImmunoprecipitation: 1-10ug of this antibody is reported to immunoprecipitate the EGF receptor (unphosphorylated at Y1173) from 10e6 vanadate treated A431 cells. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and freeze at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognizes the motif NAEYLR of the EGF-R (unphosphorylated at Tyr1173). Does not recognize the phosphorylated (pTyr1173) form of the EGF receptor. Reacts with human and mouse.
