Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor, phosphorylated (Tyr1173) (erbB, EGFR, EC 2.7.10.1, ERBB, ERBB1, MENA)

The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR; ErbB-1; HER1 in humans) is the cell-surface receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family (EGF-family) of extracellular protein ligands. The epidermal growth factor receptor is a member of the ErbB family of receptors, a subfamily of four closely related receptor tyrosine kinases: EGFR (ErbB-1), HER2/c-neu (ErbB-2), Her 3 (ErbB-3) and Her 4 (ErbB-4). Mutations affecting EGFR expression or activity could result in cancer. EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) exists on the cell surface and is activated by binding of its specific ligands, including epidermal growth factor and transforming growth factor alpha (TGFa). EGFR dimerization stimulates its intrinsic intracellular protein-tyrosine kinase activity. As a result, autophosphorylation of five tyrosine (Y) residues in the C-terminal domain of EGFR occurs.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nFlow Cytometry: 10ug/ml\nWestern Blot: 0.5ug/ml\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:100\nImmunocytochemistry: 1:500\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nEGF treated A431 cell lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
