Epstein Barr Virus, Early Antigen, p55, p50 (EBV, Human Herpes virus 4, HHV4)

The Epstein-Barr virus is the causitive agent of infectious mononucleosis and is associated with two human neoplasms, Burkitt's lymphoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Several EBV-related antigens associated with early or late functions of the viral genome have been identified. The early antigen may be virally or chemically induced in EBV infected cells and is the first detectable marker of EBV infection in human cells. \n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation.\nOther applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunocytochemistry: Paraformaldehyde/acetone fixed cell preparations\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nChemically induced Raji cells\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
