ErbB2 (c-erbB2, HER2, neu Oncoprotein)

Human Her2/neu (also known as c-erbB-2) proto-oncogene is expressed at the cell surface of a range of tumor cells. It is an essential component of a neuregulin-receptor complex, althought neuregulins do not interact with it alone. GP30 is a potential ligand for this receptor. Not activated by EGF, TGF-alpha and amphiregulin. In many types of tumor Her2/neu expression is related to poor prognosis, with an increased risk of metastasis.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nImmunohistochemistry: For paraffin sections, antigen retrieval is not needed but it may optimiz staining. Also good with frozen sections.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
