HER3/ErbB3 is a member of the ErbB/EGF receptor protein tyrosine kinase family (1,2). Tyrosine phosphorylation of HER3/ErbB3 depends on its association with other ErbB tyrosine kinases (3). Phosphorylation sites in the carboxy-terminal tail mediate downstream signaling pathways. HER3/ErbB3 is highly expressed in many cancer cells (4), and it may work together with other Erb members in tumorogenesis and proliferation (5). HER/ErbB3 is phosphorylated by EGFR or ErbB2 through dimeric interactions with HER/ErbB3, on Tyrosine 1289, a docking site for phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (6). Applications: Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunocytochemistry: 1:100 Western Blot: 1:2500-1:5000 Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Manufactured incorporating RabMAb(R) technology under Epitomics US patents, No 5,675,063 and 7,429,487, owned by Abcam.
