HER3/ErbB3 is a member of the ErbB/EGF receptor protein tyrosine kinase family (1,2). Tyrosine phosphorylation of HER3/ErbB3 depends on its association with other ErbB tyrosine kinases (3). Phosphorylation sites in the carboxy-terminal tail mediate downstream signaling
pathways. HER3/ErbB3 is highly expressed in many cancer cells (4), and it may work together with other Erb members in tumorogenesis and proliferation (5). HER/ErbB3 is phosphorylated by EGFR or ErbB2 through dimeric interactions with HER/ErbB3, on Tyrosine 1289, a docking
site for phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (6).
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Immunocytochemistry: 1:100
Western Blot: 1:2500-1:5000
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
