erbB4 (c-erbB4, HER4)

erbB4/HER4 is the fourth member of the human epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family that is frequently overexpressed in a variety of aggressive epithelial carcinomas. Its extracellular domain is most similar to the orphan receptor HER3, whereas its cytoplasmic kinase domain exhibits 79% and 77% identity with EGFR and HER2, respectively. HER4 is most predominantly expressed in several breast carcinoma cell lines, and in normal skeletal muscle, heart, pituitary, brain and cerebellum. \n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:500-1:1000 detects erbB-4 on 10ug of A431 lysates.\nImmunohistochemistry: formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
