Extra cellular signal-regulated kinases Erk1 (p44 MAPK) Serine/Threonine protein kinase is part of a subfamily of mitogen-activated protein kinases that participate in diverse cellular functions, including the regulation of cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis and signal transduction (1,2,3). Erk1 regulates meiosis and mitosis by phosphorylating a number of transcription factors such as ELK-1. Activation of Erk1 occurs through phosphorylation of threonine 202 and tyrosine 204 (of human MAP kinase) . Erk1 is also known to autophosphorylate on tyrosine (4). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000 Immunoprecipitation: 1:20 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Manufactured incorporating RabMAb(R) technology under Epitomics US patents, No 5,675,063 and 7,429,487, owned by Abcam.
