Erzin, a member of the Ezrin, Radixin, Moesin (ERM) family, is a linker protein located between cell surface receptors, adhesion molecules, and actin cytoskeleton (1-2). Radixin is a cytoskeletal protein that may be important in linking actin to the plasma membrane. Recent cloning of the murine and porcine radixin cDNAs revealed a protein highly homologous to ezrin and moesin (3). oesin (membrane-organizing extension spike protein) has previously been characterized as a possible receptor protein for heparan sulfate and also as a cytoskeletal linker protein that stabilizes cell surface microvilli, filopodia and lamellipodia. Data indicate that moesin is identical to the 77-kD band that copurifies with ezrin in its isolation from human placenta (4). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:100-250 Immunocytochemistry: 1:250-500 Immunoprecipitation: 1:40 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Manufactured incorporating RabMAb(R) technology under Epitomics US patents, No 5,675,063 and 7,429,487, owned by Abcam.
