FAK, phosphorylated (Tyr576) (Focal Adhesion Associated Protein Tyrosine Kinase, BC3)

Focal Adhesion Kinase (FAK) is a 125kD non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase that acts as a substrate for Src and is a key element of integrin signaling. FAK plays a central role in cell spreading, differentiation, migration, cell death and acceleration of the G1 to S phase transition of the cell cycle. The phosphorylation by Src of tyrosines 576 and 577 in the activation loop results in maximal activity of FAK. However, the two sites appear to be differentially regulated by stimuli.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and previous lots have been used in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nWestern Blot: 1:1000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nRecommended Positive Control:\nChicken embryo fibroblasts (CEFs) expressing FAK protein and plated on fibronectin and treated with vanadate.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
