FAK1 (Focal Adhesion Kinase 1, FADK 1, FADK, FAK, FRNK, pp125FAK, Protein-tyrosine Kinase 2, PTK2)

Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is a cytoplasmic non-receptor protein-tyrosine kinase found concentrated in the focal adhesions that form between cells growing in the presence of extracellular matrix constituents and is involved in signaling pathways involved in cell motility, proliferation, and apoptosis. FAK is activated by tyrosine phosphorylation in response to either integrin clustering induced by cell adhesion or antibody cross-linking, or via G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) occupancy by ligands such as bombesin or lysophosphatidic acid, or via LDL receptor occupancy. FAK plays a potential role in oncogenic transformation resulting in increased kinase activity.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunohistochemistry (paraffin): 2ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nHuman ductal and lobular epithelium\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
