Human fascin is a highly conserved actin-bundling protein. Fascin, encoded by the human homolog for sn (hsn) gene. Localized in microspikes and stress fibers of cultured cells, it is hypothesize to be involved in the formation of microfilament bundles. Fascin expression is predominantly located in dendritic cells, while negative in regions of lymphoid, myeloid, and plasma cells. However, Reed Sternberg cells in Hodgkin's lymphoma are positive for fascin staining. Epstein-Barr virus may induce expression of fascin in B cells.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1:50 for 10min at RT
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissues sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10min followed by cooling at RT for 20min
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control:
Hodgkin
