Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins (14-15kD) that bind long chain fatty acids, their CoA derivatives, billiruben, organic anions and other small hydrophobic molecules. They are abundantly present in various cell types and due to their small size rapidly leak from damaged cells leading to a rise in serum levels. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
