Fibroblast Growth Factor, Basic, Recombinant, Human (FGF2, BFGF, FGFB, HBGF-2, HBGH-2, Heparin-binding growth factor 2 precursor, Prostatropin)

Fibroblast Growth Factor-basic (FGF-b or FGF-2) is a heparin binding growth factor which stimulates the proliferation of a wide variety of cells including mesenchymal, neuroectodermal and endothelial cells. FGF-b also exerts a potent angiogenic activity in vivo. \n\nSource: \nRecombinant human soluble basic FGF, aa134-288, expressed in E. coli.\n\nMolecular Weight: 17.3kD\n\nBiological Activity: \nMeasured by its ability to stimulate proliferation of NIH3T3 cells. The ED50 of this effect is between 0.1-1ng/ml. \n\nEndotoxin: (same/less than)1EU/ug (LAL)\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
