FOXP3 is a member of the forkhead/winged-helix family of transcriptional regulators and is highly conserved across mammals. FOXP3 is essential for normal immune homeostasis. FOXP3 is stably and constitutively expressed at a high level in CD25 + CD4 positive regulatory T cells, a low level in CD4-positive/CD25-negative cells, and is absent in CD4-negative/CD8-positive T cells. FOXP3 may be a master regulatory gene and a more specific marker of regulatory T cells than other T cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1:50. Tested on mouse thymus from an influenza-infected mouse or thymus from healthy mouse. Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 detects a band at~47.2kD Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
