GALNS (Galactosamine (N-acetyl)-6-sulfate Sulfatase (Morquio Syndrome, Mucopolysaccharidosis Type IVA), GALNAC6S, GAS, MPS4A, Chondroitinase)

N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulfatase is an enzyme that, in humans, is encoded by the GALNS gene.\nThis gene encodes N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulfatase, which is a lysosomal exohydrolase required for the degradation of the glycosaminoglycans, keratan sulfate, and chondroitin 6-sulfate. Sequence alterations including point, missense and nonsense mutations, as well as those that affect splicing, result in a deficiency of this enzyme. Deficiencies of this enzyme lead to Morquio A syndrome, a lysosomal storage disorder.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nPeptide ELISA Titer: 1:64,000\nWestern Blot: 0.01-0.03ug/ml. A band is detcted at ~60kD in Human Bone Marrow and Placenta lysates. \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPeptide Blocking:\nCorresponding peptide is available for Peptide Blocking studies.
