Gdnf (Glial Cell Line-derived Neurotrophic Factor, mGDNF, Astrocyte-derived Trophic Factor, ATF)

Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) has been identified as a potent neurotrophic factor that enhances survival of midbrain dopaminergic neurons. GDNF is a glycosylated, disulfide-bonded homodimer. It promotes the survival and morphological differentiation of dopaminergic neurons and increases their high-affinity dopamine uptake. On the basis of these findings, it has been suggested that GDNF may play a role in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, which is marked by progressive degeneration of midbrain dopaminergic neurons.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 0.5-4ug/ml\nImmunoprecipitation: 10-20ug/ml\nImmunohistochemistry: 10-20ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
