Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) is an intermediate filament protein found in glial cells such as astrocytes and ependymal cells. GFAP is also seen in Schwann cells, enteric glial cells and satellite cells of the sensory ganglia in the peripheral nervous system. This antibody will help detect GFAP and identify these cell types in normal and uncharacterized tissues.
