GKN1 (Gastrokine-1, 18kD Antrum Mucosa Protein, AMP-18, Protein CA11, AMP18, CA11, UNQ489/PRO1005)

Gastrokine 1, also known as GKN1 and CA11, is a 185aa containing secreted protein belonging to the gastrokine family with a BRICHOS domain and an asn-rich region. GKN1 (also known as an antioncogene) is reported to be down-regulated in human gastric cancer tissue as compared to normal gastric mucosa. Differential display of normal and cancerous gastric tissue suggested that this protein is predominantly expressed in stomach and the expression is down-regulated to considerable frequency in cancer tissue or gastric cancer cell lines examined. This extra cellular protein is co-secreted with mucins and is a signaling growth factor with mitogenic activity and may be involved in maintaining the integrity of the gastric mucosal epithelium.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
