Glucagon (GCG, Glicentin related polypeptide, GLP 1, GLP, Glucagon like peptide 1, Glucagon like peptide 2, Glucagon precursor, GRPP )

Glucagon is produced by the alpha-cells of the pancreatic islets. It occurs also in endocrine cells of the gut and in neurons in the brain. Glucagon is a common constituent of endocrine pancreatic tumors and of rectal carcinoids, such tumors may give rise to the so called glucagonoma syndrome. \n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in RIA, Dot Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nImmunohistochemistry (FFPE): 1:2000 detected Glucagon using human or animal pancreas.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nRIA Affinity Constant: 6.1x10e8Me-1\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
