Glucagon is produced by the alpha-cells of the pancreatic islets. It occurs also in endocrine cells of the gut and in neurons in the brain. Glucagon is a common constituent of endocrine pancreatic tumors and of rectal carcinoids, such tumors may give rise to the so called glucagonoma syndrome. Applications: Suitable for use in RIA, Dot Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 1:2000 detected Glucagon using human or animal pancreas. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. RIA Affinity Constant: 6.1x10e8Me-1 Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
