Glutathione S Transferase, pi (GSTP1, GSTpi1, GST3, DFN7)

Human glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) are a large multigene family of isoenzymes, which catalyse the conjugation of glutathione to electrophilic substrates. These enzymes are involved in the detoxification of both endogenous and exogenous electrophiles, which can react with cellular components such as DNA. The modification of DNA by reactive compounds can initiate carcinogenesis and the GSTs are believed to play a role in cancer prevention by inactivating carcinogens. There are four major structural classes of mammalian cytosolic GSTs (alpha, mu, pi and theta).\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, RIA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution: \nELISA: 10ug/ml\nWestern Blot: 10ug/ml\nRIA: 10ug/ml\nDo not use with Heparin plasma samples.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
