Glutathione (Sepharose)

The Glutathione-S-Transferase (GST) gene fusion system has been widely used for the over expression of foreign genes in E. coli. The expressed fusion protein with a GST tail can be easily purified by affinity chromatography on Glutathione-Sepharose beads from the bacterial lysate. Glutathione-Sepharose is designed for the purpose of purification of such GST fusion proteins or any other kinds of glutathione binding proteins. This formulation exhibits excellent binding capacity, high flow rate, no significant loss of the glutathione ligand and a pH stability range of 2-10.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use for purification of GST-fusion proteins or other glutathione- binding proteins.\n\nBead Structure: \n4% cross-linked spherical agarose \n\nMean particle size: \n90um (45-165um) \n\nLigand: \nGlutathione\n\npH stability: \n2-10\n\nChemical stability: \n1M NaOH (1wk, 20 degrees C) \n0.01M NaOH , pH 12 \n0.01M HCl, pH 2 \n4M sodium chloride\n8M urea \n6M guanidine hydrochloride\n\nStorage buffer: \n0.01% Thimersol / ddH2O\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4 degrees C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
