A glycosyltransferase enzyme that catalyses the reaction of UDP-glucose and (1,4-alpha-D-glucosyl)n to yield UDP and (1,4-alpha-D-glucosyl)n+1. In other words, this enzyme converts excess glucose residues one by one into a polymeric chain for storage as glycogen. The reaction is highly regulated by allosteric effectors such as glucose-6-phosphate, by phosphorylation reactions, and indirectly triggered by the hormone insulin. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Pervanadate treated and untreated C2C12 cell lysate. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
