GNB3 (Guanine Nucleotide Binding Protein (G Protein) beta Polypeptide 3, Guanine Nucleotide-binding Protein G(I)/G(S)/G(T) beta Subunit 3, Transducin beta Chain 3) (Azide Free)

Heterotrimeric guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins), which integrate signals between receptors and effector proteins, are composed of an alpha, a beta, and a gamma subunit. These subunits are encoded by families of related genes. This gene encodes a beta subunit. Beta subunits are important regulators of alpha subunits, as well as of certain signal transduction receptors and effectors. A single-nucleotide polymorphism (C825T) in this gene is associated with essential hypertension and obesity. This polymorphism is also associated with the occurrence of the splice variant GNB3-s, which appears to have increased activity. GNB3-s is an example of alternative splicing caused by a nucleotide change outside of the splice donor and acceptor sites. Additional splice variants may exist for this gene, but they have not been fully described.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:500-1:1000\nELISA: 1ug/ml-3ng/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nHybridoma: \nSp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
