This mouse monoclonal antibody recognizes human GPR83 also known as G protein coupled receptor 83, GIR, G protein coupled receptor 72, and GPR72. GPR83 is a multi-pass membrane protein, belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. GPR83 is an orphan GPR most homologous to the tachykinin and neuropeptide Y (NPY) receptors, has a predicted molecular weight 48kD. GPR83 is expressed in brain and upregulated in both murine and human Treg. GPR83 might be critically involved in the peripheral generation of Foxp3+ Treg cells in vivo. This monoclonal antibody has been shown to be useful for Western blotting.
