Growth and Differentiation Factor 9 (GDF9)

Growth differentiation factor 9 (GDF9) is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) family and the TGF-beta superfamily. BMP proteins are secreted growth factors that are characterized by seven conserved cysteine residues. In general, they are regulators of cell growth and differentiation in both embryonic and adult tissues. GDF9 can form non-covalent homodimers when expressed individually, while when GDF9 and BMP15 are co-expressed BMP-15/GDF-9 heterodimers are produced. GDF9 signaling might be transduced by binding to the bone morphogenetic protein receptor (BMPR) type II and one or more BMPR type I receptors.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA:1:1000\nWestern Blotting: 1:100-1:1000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degrees C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
