hGH is produced by the somatotroph cells in the pituitary. hGH acts through binding to membrane receptors that belong to the cytokine receptor superfamily. Ligand binding induces receptor dimerization and activation of the receptorassociated kinase: JAK2. This results in phosphorylation of the kinase itself, of the receptor, and of many cellular proteins including the Stat proteins as well as adaptors leading to the activation of the Ras/MAP kinase pathway and of the PI-3 kinase pathway. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. HRP conjugates are sensitive to light.
